Thomas decided that he wasn’t going anywhere. He was furious, but he wasn’t going to let justice go on undone. His first logical step was to call his lawyer and ask what they could do regarding the property fiasco. The lawyer got to work and performed a detailed assessment of the situation. In time, he would get back to Thomas with mixed news, some good, and some bad. Clearly, this wasn’t going to be a straightforward case.

Thomas heard the good news initially. He did, in fact, have the legal option of taking the fence down, as stated by the lawyer. This would involve contracting a person that was able to take it away without fearing lawful prosecution. There was just one hitch – the farmer could simply erect the fence once more! Thomas was miserable after he heard this. After feeling a fleeting sense of hope, the couple was now back to square one.
